Mission
Statement

Worship is at the heart of church life and Sunday morning congregations include members and friends, children, students and other visitors who regularly fill the two hundred seats in the main body of the worship room.

Worship starts at 10.45am on Sunday mornings although there is often an opportunity for informal singing while people are gathering. The Sunday School departments and the Young People's group are an integral part of the first session of worship, with the style geared to include this age range. On Sundays of the Christian festivals, the Sunday School will often remain as part of the congregation for the whole of the morning worship. The Sunday Singers and the Band both frequently play a part in the service. There is a creche for babies under 2 years old for the whole of the period.
Our evening service, at 6 o'clock, takes a more traditional form at present though experimentation in style and content are encouraged. The church choir takes part regularly in this service and also the Band will feature from time to time.

The Sunday School starts with the creche which looks after babies up to 2 years old for the whole service. The other children leave the service after 20 minutes or so to follow their own programme suited to their age group. Beginners (shown on the right) is for 3 and 4 year olds and the primary group for 5 to 7.
The Junior department starts at 7 years and the Seniors (shown left) include 11 to 14 year olds.
All the departments follow a recognised teaching syllabus, although not slavishly, allowing opportunity for activity, discussion, praise and worship appropriate for each age group.
The Young People's group for those 14+ follows a programme tailored to the needs of the current group.

The Lounge becomes the focus point after the morning service where tea, coffee and squash are served, giving an opportunity to meet informally and catch up on the news and make arrangements for future contacts.
