LOUGHBOROUGH is a diverse mix of market town, industrial enterprise and institutions of academic, sporting and artistic excellence, all within a stone's throw of rolling wooded countryside.

	Loughborough has been made world famous, particularly by the champion sports men and women who have studied here and by Taylor's Bell foundry.
		In addition the Town has a fine tradition
	of  technology in pharmaceuticals, electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering and in textiles, represented in the Market Place by the statue of the "Sock Man".

The Market is set up in the Market Place each Thursday and Saturday, attracting people from the surrounding area, many of whom visit the Baptist church building for a light lunch at the "Lunch Break".
There are many buildings in the Town which give the Town Centre a feel of history in a setting of modern shopping precincts and other up to date amenities.
