LOUGHBOROUGH is a diverse mix of market town,
industrial enterprise and institutions of academic, sporting and artistic excellence, all
within a stone's throw of rolling wooded countryside.
|
Loughborough has been
made world famous, particularly by the champion sports men and women who have studied here
and by Taylor's Bell foundry. |
|
In addition the Town has a
fine tradition |
| of technology in
pharmaceuticals, electrical, electronic and mechanical engineering and in textiles,
represented in the Market Place by the statue of the "Sock Man". |
|

The Market is set up in the Market Place each Thursday and Saturday, attracting people
from the surrounding area, many of whom visit the Baptist church building for a light
lunch at the "Lunch Break".
There are many buildings in the Town which give the Town Centre a feel of history in a
setting of modern shopping precincts and other up to date amenities.
