Baptists understand the church as a community of believers who gather
together for worship, witness and service. Although each Baptist Church is an independent
entity, Baptists have always believed in associating with other Christians, locally,
nationally and internationally.

Loughborough Baptist Church belongs to the East
Midlands Baptist Association, the Baptist Union of Great Britain, and through them the
Baptist World Alliance. |
There are 19 churches in
membership of Churches Together in Loughborough and LBC is one of them. Representatives of
the churches meet every two months to plan various united events. The major festivals of
the Church are celebrated including, for example, a 6 week long Lent Programme
culminating in a united Communion on Maundy Thursday and an open air witness in the Market
Place on Good Friday.

The Baptist
Church in Loughborough has a strong tradition of support for Christian Aid and twice a
year hosts the monthly Simple Sunday Lunches which travel around the Town. In addition
Christian Aid Week is one of the highlights of the year for LBC. |
The whole family of the church
is involved with sponsored walk, Market stall, house-to-house collections and a
3-course lunch.
| The church uses "fish.co.uk" as its Internet
Service Provider. |
|
| Every time we use our e-mail facility, Christian Aid receives
a proportion of the cost of the call from the telephone company. |
|
There are of course many other organisations which use our premises
and yet others sponsored by the church elsewhere, but these three give an indication
of our commitment to the local and wider community.
